- Mental Capacity issues in relation to health and welfare
- End of life and medical treatment challenges
- Challenges to decisions to withdraw life sustaining treatment
- Advice in relation to community care provision from local authorities
- Advice in relation to healthcare provision from healthcare authorities
- Community care and healthcare funding advice
- Advice and assistance in relation to Health and Welfare Deputyship applications
Langleys is one of a handful of firms operating outside of London in this niche area of law and are regularly instructed by the Official Solicitor to the Supreme Court, which is a governmental body appointed to protect the interest of adults who lack the capacity to make decisions for themselves in relation to healthcare or community care needs. We also act for families of vulnerable adults who seek health and community care support and services.
The Healthcare and Welfare unit has a wealth of expertise in health and social care law. Our knowledge in this area means that we are well placed to challenge the decisions of local authorities or healthcare authorities by means of Judicial Review. In all cases, we provide understandable and useful advice responding specifically to the problems affecting you or your loved ones. We provide lectures to professionals in relation to mental capacity and community care law.
How We Can Help You
Langleys is a regionally respected firm with depth and breadth of expertise. As a unit, we will ensure that we offer you complete legal solutions to respond to all your legal needs. You will benefit from our experience in other areas which impact upon healthcare and welfare cases. Such advice might include advice in relation to powers of attorney, financial deputyships, wills, and personal injury or medical negligence.
We understand how distressing disputes over healthcare and welfare can be. There is a high personal cost. We always endeavour to keep you informed and to give you frank advice. We are also able to explore all funding options with you including public funding in order to provide a competitive and cost efficient service.
