A New Family Court For The New Year
The Family Court system in England and Wales is in the process of a huge shakeup. If everything goes according to plan, the existing three levels of Family Courts will be amalgamated into one big Court to be known as the “Family Court”. At present there are three levels of Court dealing with family cases, the High Court, the County Court and the Family Proceedings Court (also known as the Magistrates Court). Appellate Courts are also part of the Family Law system (Court of Appeal and Supreme Court) but they are not affected by the proposed changes).
