Langleys Solicitors LLP is a leading law firm with approximately 330 staff across our offices in York and Lincoln, and an ever increasing national presence and client base. We offer a full range of legal services across our 3 main divisions; Insurance Law, Private Law and Commercial Law and have a strong reputation within the market for the quality of service we deliver for our clients.
Our annual work experience scheme is designed to provide candidates with a practical experience wtihin a law firm and offers an excellent first step in developing a career in law. We expect successful candidates to be ambitious, enthusiastic and driven.
How does the scheme work?
We offer up to 6 work experience placements during the summer months as part of our work experience scheme. Placements are offered in our York office and our Lincoln office.
Placements are 3 days in length and each day is spent in a different department where you will shadow, observe colleagues and be involved in current projects/tasks. The scheme is a great opportunity for you to establish connections with people who work at Langleys, obtain an insight into day-to-day life as a solicitor and confirm if a career in law is for you. We welcome applications from both law and non-law candidates however preference will be given to those who also apply for a training contract.
How do I Apply?
Applications for placements in summer 2019 have now closed. Applications for placements in our summer 2020 scheme will open in November 2019.
Those applying or accepted on the work placement scheme should apply for a training contract to start approximately two years later than the work placement.i.e. those who apply for a work placement in 2020 should apply for a training contract to commence in 2022 (assuming they will have successfully completed their LPC and GDL if applicable prior to September 2022.)
Q: Do Langleys offer work experience placements outside of the work experience scheme?
A: No – we can only offer work experience as part of the summer work experience scheme
What are the entry requirements?
A 2:1 degree (achieved or predicted) is preferred and preference will be given to second year law students and final year non law students.
We consider all candidates but preference is given to those who have also submitted a training contract application or have expressed an interest in completing a training contract with Langleys. .
