A Solicitor in the employment and education team, James started his Training Contract with Langleys in September 2013 before qualifying in September 2015.
James advises predominantly employers on both contentious and non-contentious employment law issues, managing day-to-day employee relations, drafting employment documentation, dealing with the enforceability of post-termination restrictions, business acquisitions, TUPE advice, advising on planned restructures as well as dealing with Employment Tribunal claims and representing his clients in the Employment Tribunal.
James prides himself on his commercial approach. He works with employers and individuals in finding out the outcome they want and working towards that outcome. He does not believe in giving any of his clients a lecture in the law, unless of course they want him to.
James works across all sectors of work but has a particular specialism in the Education sector. His specialism in this area has led him to develop his skills within Education Law. He regularly acts for schools during the academy conversion process, assists them with School Admission Appeals and Exclusions.
James is a regular public speaker with a broad range of expertise on delivering seminars and training sessions. He has infectious enthusiasm about all topics he presents on and endeavours to make even the most dry subjects interesting for his audience.
