Katherine is an Associate in Langleys’ employment team, having joined Langleys as a newly qualified solicitor in 2009.
Katherine advises predominantly employers on both contentious and non-contentious employment law issues ranging from managing day-to-day employee relations, drafting employment documentation and dealing with data protection queries to advising on the enforceability of post termination restrictive covenants, outsourcing, business acquisitions, TUPE information and consultation obligations and planning redundancies or restructure by way of examples. She also has expertise in dealing with business immigration queries.
Katherine has worked with national and international businesses with sophisticated HR departments to smaller owner managed and family businesses with no HR expertise. She also advises senior executives and individuals in relation to contentious issues and negotiating exits from employment under settlement agreements. Whatever the challenge, her aim is to help her clients navigate employment law with ease.
She has worked with clients across a variety of sectors including charities, councils, education, food, healthcare, IT and business service providers, manufacturing, security and tourist attractions. She has also developed particular expertise in advising schools, academies and multi-academy trusts. Katherine takes a commercial and proactive approach to solving client’s problems and is known for being approachable and getting the job done.
Katherine enjoys tribunal advocacy and is a regular public speaker with extensive experience delivering seminars and bespoke training on employment law issues for clients and interested parties. She is described as a competent, engaging and enthusiastic seminar presenter. Katherine has had various articles published and she is a member of the employment lawyers association.
