Business Awards to Attract Apprentice Entries

Organisers of the popular Gainsborough Business Awards are expecting the Apprentice of the Year category to attract a bumper number of entries this year.

The awards – now in their sixth year – celebrate the best in business in Gainsborough. Last year saw the introduction of the apprentice award which proved hugely popular and the same is expected this year.

Aleksandra Tusien, of Langleys Solicitors who organise the awards, said: “We receive lots of entries for all our categories but the most competition last year was for the Apprentice of the Year award.

“With the growing number of apprenticeships in business in a range of sectors, we expect a strong flow of entries again for the apprentice category this year as well as a healthy number in the other seven categories.”

Last year’s Apprentice of the Year was Jordan Phillips who works as a plumber for Galatia LLP.

The 2015 awards categories are:

  • Business of the Year
  • Best Small Business of the Year
  • Business Person of the Year
  • Apprentice of the Year
  • Best New Business
  • Best Use of Innovation/Technology
  • Outstanding Contribution to the Community
  • Best Customer Service

In addition to Langleys Solicitors, the sponsors for this year’s awards are Ideafuel Creative, Wright Vigar, Ping, Freewatt, West Lindsey District Council, Gainsborough College, The White Heather and Sandra’s Flower Studio.

The winners will be announced at a black-tie event held at The White Heather at Caenby Corner, near Gainsborough on Thursday 17 September. The deadline for entries is Friday 14 August.

It is free to enter the awards, at www.gainsboroughbusinessawards.com
