Business Awards Winners Celebrate Success

Timber product specialist John Brash & Co Ltd took the title of Business of the Year in the 2015 Gainsborough Business Awards.

Managing Director Chris Watson received the award from Peter Horner, partner at Langleys Solicitors which sponsored the Business of the Year category.

John Brash & Co Ltd also won the award for best use of innovation/technology at the awards dinner held at The White Heather, Market Rasen and attended by almost 200 people including 25 finalists in eight categories.

The other winners were:

Gainsborough Apprentice of the Year 2015 – Sponsored by Gainsborough College

Allecia Haw of Andrew Jay & Co who beat off competition from four other finalists.

Best Customer Service Award 2015 – Sponsored by The White Heather   Emmalooos Coffee House which received the most nominations from its customers and the public.

Outstanding Contribution to the Community 2015 – Sponsored by Ping

Nigel Webster for his work through the West Lindsey Disability Network with local businesses and good causes.

The winners were presented with a newly-designed trophy, manufactured locally by Hooton Engineering Ltd.

The black tie awards dinner was compered by BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Melvyn Prior and featured close-up magic by Scott Perry and an after dinner speech by Alfie Moore of BBC Radio 4’s ‘It’s a Fair Cop’.

Organiser Aleksandra Tusien of Langleys Solicitors said: “The awards give our local businesses the chance to demonstrate great performance and excellence in their field. It was a very special evening, showcasing some of the most outstanding successful individuals and businesses in the area.

“This year’s awards have been the most successful yet, with the most nominations in their six-year history and the most guests attending the evening itself.”

Sandra’s Flower Studio was also a headline sponsor, and the event raised £815 for the Children’s Link charity.
