Langleys Solicitors has achieved a top information security management standard as a major survey shows almost half of all UK law firms suffered from a security incident last year.
Langleys is now ISO 27001:2013 certified, demonstrating its strength in the management and security of information. It shows the commitment of the firm to protecting client data and proactively guarding against the ever-growing information security risks facing organisations.
The annual Law Firms’ Survey 2014, conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers, says information security needs to be high on the agenda of all UK law firms with 45% of all law firms suffering a security incident in the last 12 months.
The survey says: “With increased reliance on digital business processes, keeping pace with ever more sophisticated threats to their own and their clients’ data is a challenge for many law firms.”
In addition, the Information Commissioner’s Office has issued advice to the legal sector on security measures to avoid data breaches, while the Solicitors Regulation Authority has highlighted to law firms the risks of cybercrime.
