Family lawyer William Kaye is taking on this year’s Yorkshire Law Society Triathlon – as the ‘charity challenger’.
Law firms from across the region have entered relay teams of three people to complete the super-sprint triathlon at Castle Howard on Saturday 22 July.
The teams are hoping to beat William’s time as the challenger chosen by the Law Society’s president Pamela Precious.
For every minute by which a relay team beats William’s time, Pamela has pledged to pay £1 to the Huntington’s Disease Association.
The triathlon comprises a 400m swim, 23km cycle ride and a 4km run.
William, who leads the family law unit at Langleys in York, said: “The teams of three will do the swim, bike and run individually but I will do all three on my own.
“I was the president’s challenger last year and completed the course in one hour and eight minutes and was third overall. I’m hoping for an even better time this year while helping to raise money for charity.”
The winning relay team will be awarded a trophy and £150 cash prize.
