8th January dubbed "Divorce Day"

Jan 5th, 2018

The New Year is a time of reflection and it is also a time when many people choose to make resolutions or changes to their life.  Unfortunately, many people reach the conclusion that their marriage  is at an end over the Christmas period.  It is often the case that relationships are strained long before this time but things come to a head over the festive season.

Sadly, 42% of marriages now end in divorce and according to statistics approximately 40,500 people will search the term “divorce” online in January.

Relate, one of the UK’s biggest divorce charities, are expecting a 24% increase in telephone calls this month. The 8th January 2018 has been dubbed as “divorce day” due to the large increase in enquiries at this time of the year.

If you are considering ending your marriage it can be an overwhelming and daunting prospect.
