Return of the Newark Fatstock Show dinner raises £1800 for charities

Dec 16th, 2021

Debbie Harrison, Senior Associate Solicitor

For those with long memories, this dinner organised this year by Debbie Harrison – senior associate in our private wealth practice – grew out of the former Fatstock Show dinner traditionally held in late November, and has over the years raised many thousands of pounds for the Notts/ Lincs Air Ambulance, the Newark Rural Support Network and this year, the Farming Community Network.

After having to cancel the event in 2020, this year’s event held at the Cedric Ford Pavillion at Newark Showground was no exception with around 120 diners attending, each connected to Agriculture or the Allied Trades in Lincolnshire. Well-hung beef, a traditional feature of the dinner was provided by Paul Lillicrap and carved at the table. Entertainment came from Jamie Sutherland and a raffle for a gallon of whiskey and other prizes garnered £1800 to be split equally between the two charities.
